MAN-IN-MOTION

Known as "Man-in-Motion" this men's breakfast group is a fellowship breakfast with an emphasis on mission. Chartered with Presbyterian Men, USA, the men have been meeting for breakfast every third Sat. morning for over 25 years.

The Man-in-Motion group is currently on hiatus for the summer months and will resume in the fall. All men of the church are considered to be members whenever they choose to attend.

Wednesday Golf

A popular feature of First Presbyterian Men's ministry is a Wednesday golf outing, playing practically all the better courses in Orange and Riverside counties. Anywhere from four to a dozen players take part--even an occasional woman will join the group and they are always welcome. All golfers in the group are reached by email or phone with info on where and what time. For more details and to be on the list, call Bill Teachout at the church, (714) 538-2341, ext. 111 or e-mail Paul Kroesen at kroesen4@cox.net. Players handicaps run from 10 to 30 so everyone will find a comfortable level of competition

SCHOONERS

Schooners was founded at FPCO in 1956 and affiliated with the National Presbyterian Mariners. In 1999, we functioned as part of the Family Ministry Division of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  This national organization was dissolved in 2004, and PC(USA) changed its direction with special ministry programming for all ages the following year.

Our Schooners fellowship group has continued through all the changes, and is still going strong.  Today our membership is 46 members (8 singles and 19 couples).  We meet monthly except in July and August, usually on the 2nd Friday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Geneva Room of our church.  Our meetings begin with prayer, a potluck dinner, a short business meeting including celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and a program, then closes with a devotion about 9 PM.  Exceptions are three meetings traditionally held at other locations: Valentines Evening Out for a theatre performance and/or dinner; Sept. Progressive Dinner or End of Summer Picnic and Christmas hors d’oeuvres/Gift Exchange in a member’s home.

Every year our group’s mission giving continues with quarterly financial support for Tom Khazoyan/10X Production; $100 gift to each speaker’s ministry; cooking for TNT on the first Tuesday of each month; serving as coffee hour hosts/cleanup for 6 Sundays; proving Sunday worship greeters for 8 Sundays; visiting and singing Christmas carols to shut-in church members; and providing wassail and cookies after the annual Christmas Eve Service.

WE WELCOME ANYONE AND EVERYONE TO JOIN SCHOONERS FOR FUN, FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP AT ANY TIME.
